I always wanted to have a look into it, but never found the time. For example obtaining sheets by their name, changing contents, adding sheets or entire documents. In general, if you are a Java coder, there would be lots of potential writing a more sophisticated routine. As far as I understood it, it is not too difficult and do-able. You would need to authenticate yourself with the Google Sheets API and then access the sheets folder. In theory it is possible to access google sheets which are private, however this would require more coding. It requires knowledge of the spreadsheet and it needs to be shareable. Gsheet "`c(pwd)'\\ipejd219\Google Drive\Research\StataCode\test2.csv", key("18l-T2xk03s8FEgNdbEP9gONlU6CvUSl6SlKJJpGfFKU") id("1504070058")The example above is simple and works, but is a bit fiddly. **** id is the spreadsheet id and can be at the end when in the edit mode in google sheets With the document open, go to File > Download. Find the document you want to export to Sheets and open it. **** key comes from url of shareable link Open Google Docs in a web browser and sign-in to your account. Local url "`key'/export?gid=`id'&format=csv"
